Lauren Silberman, an analyst focusing on hospitality trends for Credit Suisse
The topics ranged from employee heath and wellbeing and customer appreciation to the future of our industry, including the importance of employee retention, brand value and the possible demise of delivery services. Takeaways from our presenters included that Claire is working on adding a to-go window to her space and changing the dining room to include a bookstore once they reopen; Paul shared that it’s important to “be opportunistic” as an operator in order to take advantage of opportunities for those businesses with staff and manpower ready to open as soon as possible; and Lauren shared her prediction that delivery services, while helpful during this time, may see a downtick once the industry rebounds since the model is “simply not profitable for operators.” Many insights were shared, you can review the entire meeting in the recording here.
